This is a portrait of a member of the British royalty. It was done by a Maltese artist who followed the Victorian tradition. Who was this Maltese artist?
Now where could this be? Edward Lear painted this work.
Here's another!
The painting below was made by a Romantic artist.
Let's see who will be the first to guess who the artist of this work is.
The painting above is by the impressionist painter, Joseph Mallord William (J.M.W) Turner. The name of the landscape painting is 'The Grand Harbour in Valletta'

ReplyDeleteJust a clarification. Turner used an impressionistic style but was not an Impressionist. He was a Romantic artist.
ReplyDeleteThe painting is called "Gozo near Malta" but I don't recognise whereabout it is in Gozo.
ReplyDeleteThat's right! Well done!
